HEARD of Elephants is a Highland Park based art:music collective drawn together around the urge to create an open environment for the creation and consumption of free thinking art and the desire to have some laughs in the process. We thought about going on for paragraphs and using a bunch of intellectual sounding phrases to explain that but then decided against it.
Heard Of Elephants began in July 2008, curating a monthly residency at the Unknown Theater over six months interspersed with one-off events at Echo Curio, the Highland Park American Legion Hall, the Black Cat Art Gallery, Mr. T’s Bowl, The Cocaine, and more, leading up to the collective’s 1-year anniversary events at Synchronicity Space and Junction Block Warehouse. In February, 2010, HEARD curated a 2-week residency at Synchronicity Space, and a month long residency in May at Echo Curio, as well as hosting booths and installations at numerous local street festivals.
